Main Components (Typical Cut-to-Length Line Process):
(1) Loading equipment (Loading Equipment):
Hydraulic uncoiler: Carries the steel coil, hydraulically expands the coil core, and provides uncoiling tension. It is the starting point of the entire line.
Coil loading trolley (Optional): Assists in loading heavy steel coils onto the uncoiler (commonly used in leveling lines with a capacity of more than 3 tons).
(2) Material feeding and pre-treatment:
Pressing arm/pressing roller: Presses on the outer ring of the coil to prevent loosening and assists in threading.
Straightening machine/unwinding feeder (Optional): Used to straighten or bend the head of the coil to facilitate smooth entry into the leveling machine (especially for thick plates or high-strength plates).
Shearing welder (Optional, used for longitudinal shearing and leveling line): During continuous production, the tail of the previous coil is welded with the head of the next coil.
(3) Leveling unit:
Multi-roller leveling machine (leveling machine): Core equipment! Usually composed of 9 rollers, 11 rollers, 13 rollers, 15 rollers, 17 rollers, 21 rollers, etc. (mostly odd numbers) staggered upper and lower straightening rollers.
Working principle: Through the setting of gradually decreasing roller gaps, the plate undergoes a series of reverse bending with decreasing amplitudes to eliminate internal stress and original deformation and achieve a flat state.
Adjustment: The upper roller pressure can be adjusted as a whole or independently to adapt to different materials, thicknesses and plate shape defects.
(4) Traction/feeding mechanism:
Pinch roller device: Provides stable traction after the leveler to ensure that the plate passes through the leveler and subsequent shearing machine at a uniform speed.
Servo feeding system (high-precision line): Achieve high-precision fixed-length feeding.
(5) Length Measuring & Control System:
Encoder/grating scale: Accurately measure the moving length of the plate.
PLC control system: Receives measurement signals, controls feeding and shearing actions, and achieves accurate fixed-length shearing.
(6) Cutting Unit:
Hydraulic swing shear/gate shear (commonly used): Relatively simple structure, low cost, suitable for medium and thin plates and medium and low speed production lines.
Hydraulic stop shear/flying shear (high-efficiency option): The plate does not stop during shearing, with high production efficiency, suitable for medium and high speed production lines. High-speed pneumatic shear (thin plate high-speed line): extremely fast, low noise, suitable for mass production of thin plates.
(7) Conveying & Stacking Unit:
Discharging roller/belt conveyor: transports the sheared plates to the stacking area.
Stacker/stacking platform: core equipment! Automatically stacks the plates neatly. Common types:
Magnetic layered stacker: uses electromagnets to absorb and release to achieve layered stacking, with high neatness, suitable for high-demand occasions.
Baffle/push-back stacker: relatively simple structure, low cost.
Robot stacking (high-end line): flexible and efficient, suitable for complex stacking requirements.
Material alignment device: ensures the neatness of the stacking.
(8) Electrical Control System:
PLC (Programmable Logic Controller): the brain of the entire production line, coordinating the actions of each device (unwinding, leveling, feeding, length measurement, shearing, stacking).
HMI (Human Machine Interface/Touch Screen): Allows operators to set parameters (such as cutting length, tensioning force, leveling parameters, and stacking method), monitor operating status, and view fault information.
Inverter/Servo Drive: Controls motor speed.
Sensors: Detect strip position, speed, and deviation correction.
