Main Components:
Frame/Base: Supports the entire unit.
Hydraulic Expanding and Contracting Reel: The core component, containing a hydraulic cylinder and expansion and contraction mechanism (sector plates, pyramid sleeves, etc.).
Spindle and Bearings: Support the coil's rotation.
Pressing Arm (Pressing Roller): Driven by a hydraulic cylinder, the pressing arm presses down on the outer ring of the coil.
Carrying Arm/Carrying Carriage: Provides auxiliary support for the coil.
Braking System: Typically, a hydraulic disc brake or hydraulic motor generates the uncoiling tension.
Drive System: The spindle may be driven by a motor and reducer, or by a hydraulic motor.
Hydraulic Station: Includes a hydraulic pump, motor, oil tank, control valve blocks (directional valves, proportional valves/servo valves, pressure valves, flow valves, etc.), cooler, filter, etc.
Electrical Control System: PLC, touch screen (HMI), sensors (proximity switches, encoders, etc.), etc., used to receive commands, monitor status, and precisely control the hydraulic system's operation.
Auxiliary Devices: Such as the Coil Centering Device (CPC) and edge guides.
Workflow Overview:
Coil Loading: A crane or trolley hoists the coil onto the uncoiler's support arm/trolley. The support arm is raised or the trolley moves to align the coil roughly with the center of the reel.
Reel Insertion and Tensioning: The reel (in its reduced diameter state) is inserted into the inner hole of the coil. The hydraulic system drives the reel to expand, firmly supporting the inner wall of the coil.
Reel Arm/Trolley Retraction: The support device lowers or moves.
Pressing Arm Down: A hydraulic cylinder drives the pressing arm (pressing roller) down, pressing the outermost layer of the coil.
Threading and Tension Establishment: An operator or an automated system pulls the strip's head through subsequent equipment (such as a straightener). The braking system activates to establish the required unwinding tension.
Uncoiling Operation: The production line starts, and the spindle (driven by an electric or hydraulic motor) rotates the reel and coil to unwind. The pressing arm gradually raises as the coil diameter decreases, while the braking system continuously provides steady tension.
Discharging: When the coil is exhausted, the pressing arm raises, the reel hydraulically compresses, and the coil support arm/trolley moves into a support position to remove the empty coil core, preparing for the next cycle.
